Retail Centers
Retail centers are groups of businesses offering goods and services. Retail centers may be indoors or outdoors and usually include parking areas. They may also be known as shopping centers, strip malls, or malls. Activities with the potential to generate waste may include cleaning floors, outdoor walks, bathrooms, and parking lots, as well as maintaining garbage receptacles. If there is landscaping, retail centers may also water, fertilize and otherwise manage vegetation. Irrigation systems may be maintained and pesticides and herbicides may be applied. Appropriate best management practices must be implemented to ensure that pollutants do not enter the storm drain system.
