Special Events
Special Events are categorized events that take place in designated areas. The events can take the form of festivals, street fairs, concerts, and other community affairs. The events usually include the use of booths and centralized gathering areas where people congregate. Special Event activities that may generate pollutants include use of portable restrooms, solid waste management, mobile food generating activities, and liquid waste management. These events often involve many people where significant amounts of solid waste and liquid wastes (beverages, etc.) are generated. Appropriate Best Management Practices must be implemented to prevent pollutants from entering the storm drain system.
